Funny

I'm trying to write down when Addy says funny things. Last night we were watching Tinkerbell. The ladybugs were flying "into" the basket and one got stuck so another one helped him "in." I said, "Oh Addy, looked he helped him out." To which she did not miss a beat and said, "No Mommy, he helped him IN." She doesn't miss much.

Just now, we were laying watching Open Season 2. I know we watch a lot of movies. She noticed a stretch mark on my leg and said, "Mommy, what are these scribbles?"

Keegan's Hair Cut

The last haircut Keegan had was horrible for all involved...we had to try 2 places and ended up at kid's place and it took forever and he cried, just very traumatic. So, today I wanted to get it cut again. I tried to go to the same kid's place but they were closed so I took him to Sports Clips. The lady was great. Keegan didn't cry or whimper once. He didn't bat at the clippers, scissors, or the lady. It was wonderful;)

The Heat is ON!!

Our friend came over tonight and fixed our heater....something with the heat pump isn't working but the gas is so our house is warm....yeah!! Just thought I'd give you an update:)

No Heat....

So yesterday we finally broke down and bought a new digital thermostat, we thought it'd be more accurate and help with our heat/air bill. So, Levi installs it and everything is great. Mike & Liz came over for dinner last night and I realized that the air coming out of the vents felt cold. So, after they left, he calls a friend (which I'm glad he doesn't charge by the hour) who works on air/heating units. They are on the phone forever and Levi's pushing buttons, etc. In the process of troubleshooting, he does something that breaks something...don't you love my details. I just know our heat stopped at that point. So, Levi goes to the Hortings to get space heaters and the Sprangs to get an electric blanket (but doesn't get the cord). So, anyway, it was a cold night however the kids were nice and toasty. I believe our next purchase will be space heaters just in case:) The solution: our friend is going to come over tonight to help us out. Hopefully, he will be able to tell us how to fix it so we have heat again....sorry for the long blog about no heat.

Cruise Recap #1

Okay so I'm going to try to fill you in on our cruise. It was amazing first of all. The weather was great. We made some great friends and strengthened our relationship with each other. So, for fun, we hung out in the karaoke bar A LOT!! It took 3 nights for me to get my courage up to sing. The first night Tracie and I just hung out and danced a bit. Finally, we all sang. Tracie and I sang "I Will Survive," Levi sang "Wonderwall" and Ken sang "My Dingaling." Ken brought down the house...it was awesome!! We had so much fun!

More birthday Fun

Today we had a playgroup joint birthday party. It was a busy day. Levi's parents flew in too so there was alot of excitement. On my way to the party, I decided to call my friend Cindy. She answered and told me she was having breakfast with some friends from North Carolina. They passed me around the table. It was wonderful to talk to some great ladies that I so miss. It was very cool!! What a great way to start a day!! Thanks Cici!! Addy's party went great and she had so much fun. She's super excited that Grammy & Poppy are here. I am nervous and apprehensive but I'll be fine. Levi and I need this to relax and enjoy! I am very much looking forward to it.

It's been a busy week....

but a GREAT one! Addy had a great birthday. Here are some pics from our Chuck E. Cheese night. Addy was sung to about a bajillion times and her face was so cute every time. This was s picture of her while we were singing. Today I got my haircut, toes and nails done, and eyebrows waxed...it was all LONG overdue! It was nice to have that time for me. Levi flew to San Antonio this morning, got the van and drove it back. He literally walked in the door and the kids and I walked about to go to our playgroup preschool, which we love by the way. We went to the vet today and then went to McDonalds. I love just talking with the other moms. They are so awesome and I am so thankful for them. I think I would go crazy without them to vent to and just share about life.

We leave for our cruise next week. I'm so excited. I'm glad this week has been busy because it's kept my mind off of leaving my kids. Levi's parents will do great with them. I think my problem is that I just can't pick up my phone and call them whenever I want...I'm really hung up on that. They're going to have a great time and so are we. My kids are me and I will miss them. I've tried to do the grocery shopping so my in-laws won't have to lug the kiddos through Walmart. The bathrooms are clean however the house needs a good dusting. I'm almost caught up with laundry and I've got all my cruise outfits laid out yet not in a suitcase...thus my goal for tomorrow...finish laundry, finish cleaning the house and load the suitcase.

This weekend we're having a joint party for Addy & Macy. They are a week apart so we're doing a playgroup party for them. It's tea under the sea with Ariel :) It should be fun!!

Addy's Day

We had a great time today celebrating Addy's birthday. We ate a Chick-fil-a for lunch and she told the manager that it was her birthday. She walked up to the counter later to ask for extra sauce. She got about half way there and turned around and said, "This is what 3 year olds do Mom." I knew what she meant. She also told me she likes socks now that she's four and she won't be afraid anymore. She asked me before she went to bed if she'd still be the birthday girl in the morning. She's so cute!!! We celebrated tonight at Chuck E. Cheese with our friends: Emily, the Sprangs, the Ferrers, Russells, and Sweeneys. We had a great time. We're blessed beyond what words can say and I'm so grateful. We are going to party with our playgroup this weekend so I guess I can tell Addy she's still the birthday girl tomorrow :)

Addyson's Day

Today is Addy's fourth birthday and I absolutely cannot believe that 4 years have gone by since I held her in my arms for the first time. It was none other than love at first sight. I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of God's love. I couldn't contain the love I felt as I looked at her and to know that He is God and capable of so much more is overwhelming. I am grateful for her. She makes us laugh all the time. She says the funniest, wittiest things. She is a compassionate soul. She is sassy and is learning to "roll" her eyes ( I have NO clue where she gets that from -wink). She is tender and loves to help. She is intuitive and remembers everything. I am blessed with my beautiful, baby girl! Happy Birthday Addy. I hope your day is as special as you are!!!

Week

We had a pretty good week. We stayed at home partly because we don't have the van and partly because the kids were sick. It was actually pretty nice. I tried to get caught up on some house work and just hung out. I met my friend Xuan and her kids at McD's last night after preschool and it was good to reconnect. It had been about a month since we really got to talk. Preschool was great too. I miss all those moms and kiddos when we're not around. Addy went to her Friday program today. I love seeing her after she's gone because she's happy to see me and I'm happy to see her. We went over to the Sweeney's tonight and played Guitar Hero World Tour. We had a blast. That was my first time playing and it was a lot of fun. I really liked watching other people sing and just have fun. Anyway, I'm kind of rambling. We've got a meeting in the morning about kids stuff at church and then we'll get to chill tomorrow night. I'm going to try to pack for the cruise tomorrow so I can focus on cleaning the house this week. Addy's birthday is Wednesday so we'll have a busy week with that....woohoo!!

Refocusing

So, I'm trying to refocus today. I decided over Christmas break that I'm going to take one day a week to do some sort of fast. There's one big prayer request that I'm going to be focusing on but as other things come up I'll pray about those too. I would like to say that I've always been in the habit of prayer and fasting but I haven't. The times that I have fasted I really have felt a hunger (ha) for God and I've felt refocused when all was said and done. I want to stay in that state. I just felt really impressed that I needed to get into that habit. We have a friend in Austin who is doing a 21 day fast and I've been reading his blog. He talked about the importance of knowing the details of your fast. I posted the questions that he had on his blog here. Just in case you're curious....it was a great help for me!

1. My purpose or reason for fasting is:
_______________________________________________________

2. I will observe the following kind of fast:
______________________________________________________

3. I will observe this fast for this period of time:
_______________________________________________________

4. My accountability partner during this fast will be:
_______________________________________________________

5. Why is this the right time for me to fast:

Blah

Good morning....it's kind of yucky outside again. It's supposed to warm up which will be nice!! I'm kind of in a funk. I feel yucky on the inside too. I don't know what my deal is. I met with my girlfriends this morning for our accountability/Bible study. We just talked and regrouped. I hate getting up so early but I love being connected so it's worth it. We are still without the van. It should be delivered to us by the end of the week. It may or may not come back repaired but it's supposed to be an easy fix so no sweat either way. I'm ready to sell that thing and get a more reliable vehicle. I have realized that if we had to, we could live with one vehicle. It just requires some planning and organization. Well, enough for now, my goal for today is to get the rest of the Christmas gifts from the garage into the kids' rooms and playroom.

Doctor Visits

So, I took both kids to the doctor this morning. Both kids are now on antibiotics and breathing treatments. Addy is also on steroids and Cingular. I'm just going to blame all this on Levi...he has asthma and I'm afraid the breathing stuff is just in the genes. I about had a meltdown trying to get both kids in the 2 and 1/2 door Saturn with freezing rain pouring down. I'm ready to get our van back, get it fixed, and get it sold and get something reliable. I guess that's enough complaining for a Monday....

Poor Baby

I stayed home from church (and everywhere else) today because both kids were/are coughing and snotty. They woke up and I thought they were fine. Keegan almost immediately started clinging. He literally fell asleep in my arms which he never does. I felt so bad for him. He took 2 naps today which he hasn't done in forever. He was running a temperature which broke tonight and I hope it stays gone. I'm going to take them to the doctor tomorrow to try to get something to knock this out. I feel bad for both of them coughing and just not feeling good. Even when Keegan was awake, he just laid (is that the right spelling or would it be layed?) on me, definitely NOT a Keegan thing to do. Finally tonight he started acting a little more like himself. I hope tomorrow they both wake up feeling great.

The Russells and Sprangs came over after lunch and brought me some sushi (which was yummy, thank you). We had fun just talking with them and catching up. I've really missed our friends here and am anxious to reconnect with everybody.

Hey

I've got to get back in the blogging habit. I've got a second while the kids are occupied. They are both coughing like nobody's business so we're going to skip church tomorrow. I don't want them to spread whatever they have. Hopefully, the doctor will give them something Monday to knock this out...it's been too long. We are looking for a car to buy. I'd love to have a mini SUV or crossover but I think we'll stick with a minivan. We could get a big vehicle, like a Tahoe but that's a lot of car and a lot of gas. We rented a Dodge Caravan for our trip back to Dallas and I liked it...we'll see what happens. We're praying for a good deal and a reliable vehicle. We're going to get the van fixed and sell it. I'll be glad to see it go. It's been good but it's time. I'm kind of in a funk. I'm overwhelmed with stuff from Christmas that needs to be put up and all of our Christmas decorations. I want it put away NOW and that's just not happening. I was fortunate to come home with clean clothes so at least I'm not overwhelmed with laundry on top of everything else. That is a good feeling. I am glad to get back in a routine this week. Levi and I go on our cruise in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited about that. I'm going to try to drop a few pounds before because I know I'll gain it all back on the boat. I am so excited. I'm apprehensive about leaving the kids though. Levi's parents are going to watch them so I know they're in good hands. I guess that's all of my random thoughts for now. Hopefully I'll get my blog on more this week :)
